Rural curves are typically located on two-lane roadway with speed limits up to 60 mph. Curves may have advisory speed limits. Selection of a particular countermeasure depends on roadway characteristics and speed limit. Only perceptual- and traffic control-based countermeasures are appropriate for rural curves.
