About the research

In 1999, CTRE established the Iowa Traffic Safety Data Service (ITSDS) with funding from the Iowa Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau (GTSB). The purpose of the service was and is to provide timely access to traffice safety data and analysis for Iowa’s traffic safety community, comprised of engineering, law enforcement, educators and researchers, and emergency response professionals. This project annually requests funds to continue the operation of the service and to expand its activities.
