This webinar will focus on a summary of the basic content and updates of the 2023 MUTCD within Part 2b (regulatory signs) and Part 2c (warning signs).  The content covered will be the basics on signing, with the changes that came about in the new MUTCD highlighted.  The second portion of the webinar will provide an overview and discussion on the different safety funding resources that are available in Iowa for both signing and other safety improvements.  Often agencies have questions about what might pay for signing and general safety improvements, and this is an opportunity to learn more about the different programs that are available in Iowa.

Speakers

Keith Knapp is the Director of Iowa Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) at the Institute for Transportation (InTrans) of Iowa State University. He has more than 25 years of experience in transportation-related training, outreach/extension, and research. He has developed and been an instructor in local, state, and national training courses with a wide range of subjects and has taught traffic engineering, safety, and highway design at various universities.

David Veneziano is the Safety Circuit Rider with the Iowa Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) at the Institute for Transportation at Iowa State University. He has over 19 years of experience in transportation training and research research.  His outreach and training activities are focused on for safety treatments, roadside safety, work zone flagging and safety, and roadway signing and marking.
