Description
Iowa LTAP, in conjunction with the Iowa Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau (GTSB), will be providing a pair of webinar trainings focused on addressing the safety of vulnerable road users on September 9 and 15. These FREE trainings will provide an overview and resources for local agencies on a variety of pedestrian safety countermeasures. The focus of the webinar will be on proven countermeasures that directly improve pedestrian safety. This includes passive (e.g. enhanced markings) and active (e.g. leading pedestrian interval signals) improvements. The treatments that will be discussed are applicable in a variety of settings, and the information covered will provide agencies with a set of features to address the safety of vulnerable users.
Note that this course will take place over the course of two days, with each training each day running from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Part 1 will be on September 9 and Part 2 on September 15. Attendance is required at both sessions for a certificate.

Public works engineers and staff, local agency and staff, consultants and others who work with vulnerable road users.
