Description
This training is being offered every quarter by the Iowa Pavement Management Program (IPMP). It provides local and regional governmental personnel a networking opportunity for the exchange of ideas and tips as well as a working knowledge of pavement data collection process and how the data can be used for pavement and asset management.
The morning session of this training will focus on updates to the IPMP data collection, processing, and delivery. The afternoon session will include a refresher on using the dTIMS pavement management program. Each participant will be able to log into the Deighton Training Environment.
Each participant is expected to come with a PC laptop installed with the latest version of Google Chrome.
Agenda Highlights
- Understanding IPMP Pavement Management Data: A foundational overview of the data collected through the IPMP, including how roadway condition data is gathered, processed, and delivered to local agencies. The session covers how to interpret key pavement metrics and condition indices to support informed decision-making for your road network.
- Using dTIMS for Construction Program Planning: A hands-on walk-through of how to use dTIMS pavement management software to develop and prioritize construction programs. Topics include budget optimization, treatment selection, and generating multi-year construction plans that align with agency goals and funding constraints.
-
Localized Treatment Strategies: A focused discussion on cost-effective pavement treatment approaches that directly improve overall road condition ratings. Targeted, localized interventions applied at the right place and right time can stretch agency budgets further while delivering measurable gains in pavement condition index scores across the network.
