Description
The Iowa Pavement Management Program (IPMP) offers this training every quarter. It gives local and regional government personnel a chance to network, exchange ideas and tips, and build a working knowledge of the pavement data collection process and how the data can be used for pavement and asset management.
The morning session will focus on updates to IPMP data collection, processing, and delivery. The afternoon session will include a refresher on using the dTIMS pavement management program. Each participant will be able to log into the Deighton Training Environment.
Each participant is expected to bring a PC laptop with the latest version of Google Chrome installed.
Agenda Highlights
- Integrated Pavement Evaluation: Evaluating from the Ground Up – Ahmad Alhasan, PhD, PE, Ingios Geotechnics: Explore how accuracy in pavement surface evaluation affects decision-making. This session will demonstrate how integrating surface-distress information with structural evaluation can improve treatment selection, forecasting, and long-term pavement performance predictions.
- Best Practices for Creating and Managing Pavement Management Sections – Caleb Jansen, PE, HR Green: Learn practical strategies for using ArcGIS to optimize roadway segmentation, identify and resolve data inconsistencies, and prepare linework for use in integrating with IPMP data to generate project-level condition summaries and support pavement management software. Participants with ArcGIS Pro are welcome to follow along as the session demonstrates relevant tools and workflows.
- Deep Dive into Treatment Strategies – Inya Nlenanya, PhD, Iowa State University: Learn how to develop and apply treatment strategies within a local agency pavement-management plan, helping align maintenance and rehabilitation decisions with agency goals, pavement conditions, and available resources.
- Agency Spotlight: City of Knoxville – Jerod Gross, PE, Snyder & Associates
