Description
In this half day (4+ hour) course, students will learn the basic principles of AutoCAD. This includes navigating the model, creating objects, editing objects, using precise geometric references, creating annotation, and basic plotting. This course is designed for novice users and serves as a compact refresher for experienced users. The course will consist of instruction and interactive exercises.
This course will use the training computer lab at the host facility. There is no need to bring a laptop.
Please note: The size of the host computer lab limits the registration capacity for this training to 24 people.
Who Should Attend?
County and City staff and personnel with limited or no AutoCAD® experience.
**Please be advised that per Iowa engineers and continuing education requirements under 193C-7.4(542B, 272C) “Professional Development Guidelines”, Section 7.4(4) is “Exclusions”, which indicates that “Basic CAD and fundamental computer application courses” are excluded from allowable continuing education.**

Managing and modifying in the software
- Key Palettes (e.g., Layer Manager, Properties)
- Editing objects and applying overrides
- Drawing maintenance considerations
