About the research

NOTE: The paper above was published in the ITS World Congress Proceedings in 2006 and republished in Intelligent Transport Systems, IET.

The focus of the study was four facilities within the I-90 corridor in LaCrosse and Monroe Counties in Wisconsin. Major activities included 1) developing/evaluating alternatives to fulfill requirements of the EPA; 2) preparing an environmental report comparing the impact of the "No Build Alternative" and reasonable build alternatives; 3) conducting a community involvement program; 4) preparing conceptual plans including needs, impacts, and cost estimates; and 5) preparing a Location Study Report that will document the selected course of action and serve as a concurrent document for WisDOT administrators.
