Midwest Transportation Consortium
The Midwest Transportation Consortium is one of 10 competitively awarded Tier 1 University Transportation Centers sponsored by the Research and Innovative Technology Administration (RITA) of the U.S. DOT. The consortium is a partnership among Iowa State University, The University of Iowa, and the University of Northern Iowa, with ISU acting as lead institution.

Ted Curtis to discuss Columbia, Missouri's non-motorized transportation initiatives at February 12 transportation seminar
Ted Curtis of the City of Columbia, Missouri, will speak Friday, February 12 about implementing non-motorized transportation initiatives (103 kb pdf). The presentation will be available to audiences at the University of Iowa, the University of Northern Iowa, InTrans, and locations in Missouri.
The presentation is part of the Midwest Transportation Consortium's Tom Maze Transportation Seminar, a weekly seminar series held every spring for the MTC's Transportation Scholars Program. Watch this space for more information about upcoming speakers.
Download MTC's 2008-2009 annual report
The MTC released its second annual report as a Tier 1 University Transportation Center in December 2009. The report (2.2 mb pdf) describes the MTC's last 12 months of accomplishments in research, technology transfer, and education, including more intensive mentoring for MTC students, greater support for Go! magazine's workforce development activities, and more integral faculty and staff participation in MTC activities.

A memorial student scholarship has been established to honor Dr. Tom Maze, MTC's director before his death from heart failure in June 2009.
