About Iowa LTAP
As Iowa's Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) center, InTrans is dedicated to helping Iowa's local governments keep up with growing demands on local roads, streets, bridges, and public transportation. The center provides technical and management assistance to Iowa's local transportation officials through a variety of programs.
Public Employees Leadership Institute
The Iowa LTAP, in collaboration with Iowa's city and county government representatives, has developed the Public Employees Leadership Institute (the Institute), a training program designed to create better leaders and supervisors for Iowa's public agencies. Fourteen online, on-demand Institute modules are now available through the Iowa State University Extension program. This program, sponsored by the Iowa chapter of APWA, has received national-level certification as an approved course for advancement in Public Works.
Roads Scholar program
All Iowa personnel who have taken LTAP training are automatically entered in the Roads Scholar program. The program tracks participants' hours of training and progress through the curriculum.
Individuals and supervisors can access training records online and register for workshops online (payment must be sent separately).
