Duane manages InTrans's outreach program including the Local Technical Assistance Program's (LTAP) outreach activities. LTAP management also includes the Technology News newsletter, the reference library, the Safety Circuit Rider program, workshops, teleconferences, mailing lists, and technical reference information. He is also responsible for transportation research projects, and he maintains liaison relationships with several professional organizations. As an adjunct assistant professor of civil engineering, he teaches classes in transportation planning, traffic engineering, and highway design at Iowa State University.
